Plants of Hawaii

John really liked taking pictures of plants and flowers...so this post is dedicated to Elder Barker, because we know how much he will appreciate these pictures.

Feeding the FISH

I guess its time to get my Cohenator an aquarium. This kid loves fish! And I thought for sure he was going to eat the fish food (since they were little pellets about the same size as his Trix) but he knew just what to do with it.

Waipouli Beach Resort

This resort was AWESOME. It had the neatest pool area with man made sandy beach and a lazy river and waterslides, a fish/frog pond (which Cohen LOVED) and the most beautiful rooms I've ever seen. We loved staying here. Here is a link to look at more pictures of our place.

Fern Grotto on the famous Wailua River

Waimea Canyon

Waimea Canyon, the "Grand Canyon" of Kaua'i is the largest canyon in the Pacific and truly an amazing sight. The canyon measures 10 miles long, 1 mile wide, and more than 3,500-feet deep. It was carved thousands of years ago by rivers and floods that flowed from Mount Waialeale's summit. The lines in the canyon walls depict different volcanic eruptions and lava flows that have occurred over the centuries. While we were there, the clouds were so thick we had to wait for them to clear, but once they had we were able to observe this beautiful natural wonder.

Pearl Harbor

Today we went to Pearl Harbor. It was also Johns birthday and flying day to Kauai. John tried to get photos of the oil that is still coming up from the Arizona...but I don't think you can see it in the pictures very well. Its a sad memorial...but very interesting to see.
